We worked closely with our blade maker to develop a true half-hollow grind, prioritizing proper blade geometry rather than appearance alone. The concave profile balances blade rigidity with the refined geometry associated with traditional hollow-ground straight razors.

A straight razor's performance begins with its blade geometry.

During development, we worked with our blade maker to prioritize a genuine half-hollow grind rather than the heavier, nearly wedge-shaped geometry sometimes found on inexpensive Damascus straight razors.

The Wildwood's concave blade profile retains more rigidity than a full-hollow grind while providing the geometry associated with traditional hollow-ground razor shaving and edge maintenance.

The Wildwood is not sold shave-ready. Each razor arrives with a factory edge and requires proper honing before its first shave.
