Description

Real geometry. Real control. Not another wedge in disguise.

Most Damascus straight razors on the market today are ground the same way — flat, thick, and stiff, more like a small knife than a true razor. It's a cheap, fast way to produce them, and it's why so many "Damascus razors" feel harsh, hard to hone, and unforgiving to shave with.

This one isn't that.

We worked directly with our manufacturer to change how these blades are ground — moving away from the flat wedge grind used on nearly every mass-produced Damascus razor, to a proper half-hollow grind: thinner behind the edge, better balanced in the hand, and far more forgiving to learn on than a wedge, while still holding up to regular honing and stropping.

Key Features

  • True Half-Hollow Grind — Ground with real concave geometry behind the edge, not a flat wedge profile. Easier to hone, easier to strop, and a noticeably smoother shave.
  • Hand-Forged Damascus Steel — Layered steel construction with a distinctive pattern. Every blade is unique.
  • One-of-a-Kind Scales — [materials/description once finalized]
  • Includes Leather Sheath — Protects the blade during storage and travel.
  • Factory Edge (Important) — Comes with a factory edge and will require honing before first shave.

[Bare blade photo here] — no scales, no distractions. Look at the blade profile yourself: real hollow geometry behind the edge, not a flat wedge ground down to a point.

Why You'll Love It

A half-hollow grind is often recommended as the ideal starting point for straight razor shaving — sturdy enough to be forgiving while you're learning, but with enough hollow geometry to deliver a genuinely close, controlled shave as your technique improves. This is a razor you grow with, not one you replace once you know better.

How to Use (Recommended)

  1. Hone the blade before first use using a sharpening stone
  2. Maintain the edge with a strop before each shave
  3. Use a quality shave soap or cream for best results
